Local attractions

RSPB Ospreys

Ospreys are spectacular fish-eating birds of prey with a wingspan of nearly five feet. Their lives are full of risks. They spend every winter in West Africa and travel thousands of miles to return to North Wales, nesting in Pont Croesor and Ynys Hir, to breed and raise their chicks.

Portmeirion is a popular tourist village in Gwynedd, North Wales. It was designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 in the style of an Italian village and is now owned by a charitable trust. Portmeirion has served as the location for numerous films and television shows, most famously serving as The Village in the 1960s television show The Prisoner.

Zip World Image

Zip World won international acclaim when it opened Zip World Velocity at Bethesda in March 2013. It includes a pair of zip lines, a mile long, where riders can exceed 100mph, 500ft high and experience the nearest thing to flying. The newest member to Zip World, Titan, opened June 2014 at Llechwedd Slate Caverns, near the historic slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. This is the first 4 person zip line in Europe and the combination of Velocity and Titan makes North Wales the zip line capital of the world. Zip World Titan is also home to Bounce Below, a unique subterranean experience! It is not just the exhilarating thrills of the zip lines that will leave you breathless.
