The Village of Talsarnau is situated on the Dwyryd estuary opposite Portmeirion village, with far reaching views, from mount Snowdon itself out along the coast to Harlech, Criccieth and beyond.
The whole area is crisscrossed with walking trails ranging from easy strolls to more difficult mountain hikes. Explore woodlands, mountains and coastal areas all within walking distance of Talsarnau.
One such area, within easy reach, is 'Gwaith Powdwr' which was once an explosives works. It was donated to the North Wales Wildlife Trust by ICI in 1998. Its varied environment, from woodland, scrub, heathland and open water, supports a diverse wildlife population including the rare nightjar bird, polecats, seven species of bat and the impressive emperor dragonfly. There are fabulous views over the Dwyryd Estuary and many paths offer excellent access throughout the site.
The Estuary can cater for groups and organizations and will tailor a package to fit your particular needs, also we offer midweek and weekend breaks and normally have offers available.
Snowdonia Tours offer a number of guided tour packages of Wales which have been tailored to include not only the more popular attractions but also the hidden Gems of Wales. Why not combine a tour package with your stay at the Estuary.

At 823 square miles, Snowdonia is the UK's second largest nation park and is home to some of the most dramatic scenery anywhere in the country. Mount Snowdon is the highest mountain in England and Wales and at 3560 feet (1085 M) is the parks crowning glory. Home to rare plants and wildlife, ruined mine workings and the mountain railway, Snowdon is rated as one of the most beautiful mountains in the World, but this is just a small piece of the national park.

Harlech and the surrounding area is ideal for the novice or experienced cyclist. With the Coed-Y-Brenin mountain biking center on the doorstep and miles of reasonably flat roads and trails, everyone can enjoy the fun of 'pedal power' around the area.

or reasonable bike hire for the odd day out. Just let us what suits
you best and we will be happy to help.

We travel throughout north Wales covering Gwynedd,
Conwy county and Clwyd also out along the Llyn peninsula. Towards Mid
Wales we travel to the Black mountains, brecon beacons, Cardiff, Swansea,

Snowdon is at the heart of the Snowdonia National
Park. The area is steeped in history and benefits from some
of the most beautiful views in all of Britain. Visit Snowdonia
and experience the wealth of Attractions, Activities and Places
to Stay in Snowdonia. Snowdon is the highest mountain in England
and Wales 1085m or 3560 ft also known by its local Welsh Language
name Yr Wyddfa (The Tomb). Each year hundreds of thousands of
visitors visit the mountain to enjoy its unique presence and
share the exhilaration of scaling its slopes by one of the Snowdon
Paths described in this website. The mountain is not only tall,
it has its own unique bio-diversity of plants and animals and
much effort is made to maintain the fragile mountain ecology.
Snowdon is a national symbol for the Welsh people, something
they are rightly proud of and offers an icon of stability in
our rapidly changing political and technological world. Information
