Things To Do: An Easy Walk

 Start Point: Estuary Lodge

End Point:  Estuary Lodge

Distance: 2.5 km       Difficulty: Easy

An easy walk starting by turning right along the road from the Estuary, follow the road to the Shop/Pub turning left following the sign for the Railway Station. Continue down the road, through the gate and over the level crossing down through a second gate arriving at the estuary.

Turn left and follow the path along the rivers edge, which at low tide may be some distance away.

Views range from Mount Snowdon to the right, Portmeirion opposite and Criccieth Castle towards the river mouth. As the path turns left Harlech castle can be seen in the distance. Continue following the path up onto the bank and walk along the embankment until you reach a stile, (do not go over the stile but you can take the path to the right, which crosses over the river and then return to this point to continue back to The Estuary) from the stile you turn left, down a short stone path through a gate into a field. Walk straight along the field edge keeping the drainage ditch to your left. Climb over the Stile at the far end, cross the railway following the path over another stile until you reach a rough road, turn right and continue to the main road. Turn left back into the village and the Estuary Lodge on your right. Please take care on this short piece of road which has no pavement, you should walk on the right-hand side facing the oncoming traffic.
